Do not read this as “PSA is always worth 501% more.” The mix of cards matters enormously. The current pilot includes a condition-sensitive Magikarp with an unusually large PSA 10 premium, so the average will change as the dataset grows.

HOW WE CALCULATE IT

Average the card percentages—not the card prices.

That keeps an expensive card from dominating the result simply because its dollar value is larger.

Match the exact card

Set, card number, variation, language and condition must line up.

Build the raw baseline

Use completed-sale evidence and a representative raw benchmark.

Calculate each grade premium

Measure the percentage difference between that grade and that card's raw baseline.

Average across cards

Only after each card has its own percentage do we calculate the cross-card mean.

The dashboard gets better as the sample grows.

We will add card profiles before treating these averages as broad market conclusions. Different sports, TCGs, eras, price bands and card types may behave very differently.
